DAY 4 THURSDAY 23RD JAN, 2025 

THE POWER OF FORGIVENESS 

Matthew 5:23-24, Matthew 6:14-15. Matthew 18:21-22 

The word forgive means to pardon, to waive any negative feeling or desire for punishment. It is not easy for someone to forgive wrongs committed against him by others. Certainly, it needs the grace of God to forgive those who have committed varying degrees of offenses against you. It is desperately important to forgive wrongs committed against you by others, because it brings about freedom from bondages; opens closed doors and attracts divine connections for breakthroughs. The Lord Jesus obtained forgiveness of our sins by shedding of his blood on the cross, as recorded in the scripture Hebrews 9:22, which says that "without the shedding of the blood, there will be no remission of sins". By shedding of His blood, he paid the supreme sacrifice for the remission of our sins, therefore it is a strict requirement that we must forgive our neighbours' sins as a prerequisite for the forgiveness of own sins. This requirement is expressly expressed in Matthew 6:14-15 which says that, you forgive your neighbours' sins so that your sins will be forgiven by the father, adding that if you do not forgive your neighbours sins that your own sins will not be forgiven. It is important to note that the merits, efficiency, beauty and importance of forgiveness cannot be easily enumerated. Also to further elucidate the importance of forgiveness, the scripture recorded in Matthew 5:23-24, that if you have a gift to offer to God on the altar and remember that someone has something against you, that you suspend the gift until you have settled the matter with him, then you can go and offer your gift to God. This condition defines the importance and usefulness of forgiveness. If you are desperately in need of God's forgiveness, then you must forgive your neighbour as contained in our Lord's prayer. Forgiveness is power. It is also an act of obedience to divine injunction and attracts unmerited supernatural favours, healing, mercy, forgiveness, deliverance and breakthrough upon your life. Before the end of this program, you will experience divine visitation, turnaround, remembrance and freedom from demonic bondages in the name of Jesus. Your testimony shall be great. 

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Lord, grant me the grace to forgive all those who have offended me as you forgave my sins in the name of Jesus. 

2. Oh Lord, my father, by your mercy, expunge and remove entirely every wicknesses in my heart arising from the offenses committed against me by my neighbor in the name of Jesus. 

3. Lord, by your power destroy every spirit of unforgiveness in my life, in the name of Jesus.
